WePAC seeks to empower children in West Philadelphia by providing volunteers in school classrooms, running after school programs, and offering out-of-school programs for young adults.
Description:
Volunteers provide classroom assistance to teachers on a regular basis. The choice of day, time and grade level is up to the volunteer, but we ask for once a week commitment. Training is provided. Volunteers are also needed to help in after school programs sharing talents such as music, dance, sports, art, computer skills etc.
History:
WePAC is a new non-profit agency which evolved from the Urban Suburban Ministry of Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church. People of many faiths have joined us to donate time to assist children in three neighborhoods in West Philadelphia. There is a 25 year commitment on the part of the organization to continue its efforts.
